The Johnson County War culminated in hostilities between rich cattle barons and homesteaders; Butch Cassidy, the Sundance Kid, and the Wild Bunch hid out in the Hole-in-the-Wall country a short distance away. Outlaw Cave and the Indian Pictographs are located nearby.
